Lu5: It has been a pleasure doing business…

Althea had brought in her laptop, hoping beyond hope that someone at the Geeks4You could help bring it back to life. She waited in line, until  finally, she was sent  to one of the little cubicles where the technicians did their magic. She looked at her ticket which had the name “Adric – #15” on it, so she made her way until she found cubicle 15 with Adric at his desk ready to service her laptop. Athena was surprised that Adric was much better looking than she had expected. Although with a name like “Adric” she wasn’t sure what to expect, not that names are much to go by, but sometimes names do give you a certain mental image. Other than the Adric, from the Classic Doctor Who series, she didn’t have any idea what to expect. As she bounced into the cubicle, she was very happy with the man behind the desk. This Adric was olive skinned, with  wavy, sandy blonde hair. He had a square jaw, with just a smattering of freckles across the bridge of his nose and cheeks. Not at all what she expected to find here! He leaned forward and reached across his desk with his hand out as he introduced himself.

“Adric Escamilla, your geek for today. How can I help you?”

“I’m Althea, nice to meet you…”

“How can you help me? Well, right now I can think of a thousand things you can do to help me that have nothing to do with my laptop.”  she thought to herself, but she quickly pulled herself together and continued.

“Adric, it seems that my laptop is running super slow, and I don’t know squat about these things, other than running the basic defragging thing and, like, making my security program thingy do a bug check, or whatever. Soooo, I was hoping you could help me figure out how to get this thing moving faster than a Sloth stuck in slow motion.”

“A sloth in slow motion, eh?” he laughed. “That sounds like quite a problem, let me see what I can do to help.” He sat and did a bunch of things that Althea couldn’t quite figure out, but it seemed like her laptop was giving him a run for his money. Adric’s brows furrowed as he continued to type and wait and run a few more diagnostics.

“Althea, I’m going to go check in with a colleague, your laptop is one stubborn sloth! I’m going to get a second opinion about what I think we are going to need to do to fix your laptop. Mind if I run it over to have it checked out?”

“Oh, I don’t mind at all, whatever it takes to get it fixed!” she smiled at him. He smiled back.

“Alright, be back in a jiffy!” he put her laptop, on his lap, rolled back from behind his desk and on down the aisle between cubicles.

Althea was caught off guard momentarily, but then was quite pleased to watch him go down the aisle, it was nice to see his muscular arms at work. She busied herself in her phone until she heard Adric coming back down towards his cubicle. She gave him a flirty smile, hoping that maybe after this was done, maybe she could get his number out of this too.

“Okay Althea, my colleague confirmed my suspicions about what was going on here with you little sloth-top. We went ahead and fixed the problem, so you now have a properly working laptop!”

“Oh my gosh! Thank you, thank you, thank you Adric!!”

“No problem, It has been a pleasure doing business with you, Althea, is there anything else I can help you with before you go?”

“Actually,Adric, there is one more thing you could help me with.” Althea batted her eyes.

“Oh? What is that?”

“Well, you see, my Friday night is empty and I was hoping you could help me with plans for dinner to fill that time, and well, I guess that means I am going to need your number as well, and I don’t mean your cubicle number.” She said with a suggestive grin.

“Well, if we are done with your laptop, I think I can help you with that …”
